About Our Solar Powered Livestock Water Systems
- Submersible pump
- Easy to install system by yourself – or we’ll stay and instruct if desired.
- Movable – system can be relocated anywhere on your ranch site.
- Depth and GPD nearly unlimited – GPM (Gallons per Minute) is what the water source can provide and GPD (Gallons per Day) is what the solar panels can handle. Combining the two creates a nearly unlimited process of producing water to your ranch.
- No maintenance – little to no maintenance needed.
- Very long, life expectancy – up to 25 years warranty on the solar panels with a 2-year warranty on pumps.
- Gas generator capable – having a gas generator may be nice if you need to pump water through the evening hours.
Solar System Working Parts
When all the pieces are put together, the system starts pumping water as soon as enough solar power is available. There is a check valve and a “run and dry” feature, that if the water source runs low, the system will shut off automatically for a period of time and restart on its own.
Solar System Installation
Installation is easily done by the end user with hand tools only, and if extra instruction is needed, APU will stay on site to assist. The solar array system can be moved or relocated, if desired, after initial installation.
Solar System Maintenance
Maintenance is normally not required as there are no parts to repair if an item breaks. Periodic visual review to confirm if any outside damage has occurred is all that is required. Life expectancy warranty of the solar module is 20 to 25 years. If your pump or solar panel needs to be replaced, let us know and we’ll get a replacement out to you as soon as possible.

These pumps are capable of operating off of either DC (direct current) of 30 to 300 volts or, without any changing on AC (alternating current) of 90 to 240 volts. It is rare to have to replace a pump, but, if need be, they do come with a 2-year warranty!

How do the Solar Panels withstand hail?
Much like the windshield of a truck, they can be damaged, but we haven’t known of hail damage in the hundreds we have installed in various fields.
Do you have to have a well?
No. The pump can be used in a pond, river, stream or cistern very effectively.
Are these systems just used for watering stock?
Depends on your need, but it could be used for home use or small irrigation projects as well.
What is the life expectancy of the system?
The warranty of the solar panels is up to 25 years and the pump has a factory warranty of 2 years.
Are the structures portable?
Yes, structures can be moved to different locations.
How far can you pump or push the water?
Vertical is determined by power available and horizontal distance is nearly unlimited.
